Talvern is on the edge of the Blavet valley. Local facilities include Fishing, golf, horse riding, cycle hire and Tennis courts. In Melrand (3 miles away from L'Ete) there is lake which offers safe swimming, pedalo hire and a paddling pool for younger children. The nearest beaches are 40 min away to the south, or there are the artificial beaches at the Lac de Guerladan 20 min away. This large lake also has water skiing, canoeing and excellent walks.

Guemene sur Scorff is only 4 miles away from Talvern & has a large Supermarket (offering a very good wine selection) and numerous Boulangeries, Restaurants & Creperies.

Seafood is a speciality of the region and can be found in almost all the small markets, or direct from the boats at the small harbours which abound. The weather is milder than you would find in the UK and temperatures are 5 or more degrees above those in the SW of England for example.

Whatever your culinary tastes Brittany can cater for them.
